Your New Best Friend Dog rescue is a foster based rescue out of Short Hills New Jersey. We are a non-profit 501C3 charity organization.
We started our rescue in 2019 because of all the unwanted dogs and puppy's being euthanized or left abandon on the streets to die. We wanted to make a difference. Since then we have saved over 3,000 dogs and puppy's. But no matter how many we save, unfortunately it never ends and there is always more that need saving.
Our rescue has limited funds to work with. We rely on our adoption fees and small donations to help pay for our boarding, spay, neuter, vetting, transport and most of all our heart-worm positive dogs. We are not a shelter and get no government funding. We have limited information on the dogs and puppy's we save. Most are strays or dumped at kill shelters and saved minutes before being euthanized. Prior vetting and history of the dog is unknown. If your looking for the perfect dog keep in mind you are saving a dogs life.
Once your application is approved you will be contacted via email.
All unwanted adopted dogs from Your New Best Friend Dog Rescue must be surrendered back to our rescue with a surrender fee of $200.00. That fee will go to the care of the pet being returned. All dogs being returned to our rescue must be up to date on all vaccinations and medical or will be charged an additional fee off $300.00 at time of surrender. If they aren't up to date we will schedule an appointment with our veterinarian to get them updated. Please reach out so we can process the intake and put you on our list, which can take up to two weeks to find placement. You will then be instructed to fill out a surrender form. We strongly advise that you include all members of your family and or household in the decision to release the animal prior to bringing your pet to Your New Best Friend Dog Rescue. We also ask that any veterinary health or vaccination records you may have must be submitted prior to an intake being scheduled. The owner releasing the pet must be 18 year of age and provide a valid drivers license or other photo identification. We understand giving up your pet is a very difficult decision to make. We understand how hard it can be to relinquish a beloved pet, and we appreciate your choice to reach out to us so we can work in a partnership with you for a safe and happy ending for you and your pet. Many unwanted animal behaviors can be corrected, enabling pets to successfully remain in the family. If you would like more information about training or other solutions for keeping your pet we will be happy to assist you to others who can help.
We thank your for all your continued suport.
